Dr Andrew Russo is Professor of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics and Neurology at the University of Iowa. Dr Russo received his PhD in Biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley and did postdoctoral training at UCSD on expression of the neuropeptide CGRP. The focus of Dr Russo’s research is to understand the molecular basis of migraine. The lab uses a wide range of approaches centered on CGRP to study the altered sensory perception that is a hallmark of migraine. The overall goal of the lab is to develop effective diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for migraine.
