MD, PhD, fully trained neurologist. Prof. Tassorelli’s clinical and academic career has mostly developed at the University of Pavia and the National Neurological Institute C. Mondino in Oavia (Italy), with the exception of a 2-year Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the Dept. of Neuroscience of the University of Rochester (NY) and a one-year appointment as consultant neurorehabilitator at the Maugeri Neurorehabilitation Research Institute (Italy).
Key areas of research interest focus on animal models of neurological disorders (migraine, stroke, Parkinson’s disease), primary headaches, chronic pain, neurodegeneration, stroke and neurorehabilitation.
She has served as director in the Board of the International Headache Society (IHS), she is the Chair of the IHS Subcommittee for the Guidelines of Clinical Trials. She was one of the founding members of the European Headache Alliance, where she has served as Vice-President. She has been the co-chair of the Scientific Committee of IHC 2017 (Vancouver).
Prof. Tassorelli has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications and coauthored 6 books.
