Dr Shih-Pin Chen is an attending Neurologist at the Department of Neurology, Taipei Veterans General Hospital, one of the largest medical centres in Taiwan. He earned his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine, National Yang-Ming Hospital and PhD degree from the Institute of Clinical Medicine, National Yang-Ming University, Taipei, Taiwan. He received his post-doctoral research training at the Neurovascular Research Lab, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. His research interest mainly focuses on exploring the pathophysiology of headache disorders. He has published more than 50 scientific papers specifically focusing on clinical, neuroimaging, and molecular biological studies of thunderclap headache and reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome, as well as the animal models and genomics studies of migraine. He has been the leading author of 4 review articles and 4 textbook chapters in the field of headache. He is currently a member of Taiwan Headache Society and International Headache Society, and has been actively engaged in the headache education programs for physicians and patients in Taiwan.
