Dr Shuu-Jiun Wang MD

Dr Shuu-Jiun Wang is a practicing neurologist and currently the Professor and Chairman of Faculty of Medicine, National Yang-Ming University School of Medicine and Deputy Head of The Neurological Institute, Taipei Veterans General Hospital and. He was the president of the Taiwan Headache Society from 2005 to 2011.

Dr Wang started the headache clinic after fellowship training with Dr Stephen D Silberstein in the US from 1995 to 1996. He serves as an Associate Editor of the journals Cephalalgia, Headache, and Journal of Headache and Pain and others and has been a trustee for International Headache Society since 2013 November.

Dr Wang was awarded the Bruce S Schoenberg's international neuroepidemiology award by the American Academy of Neurology in Washington DC in 1994, the Seymour Solomon Lecture Award by the American Headache Society in LA in 2010 and the G Nappi Cluster Headache Award by the European Headache Society, 5th European Headache and Migraine Trust International Congress (EHMTIC) in Glasgow, UK in 2016. He was also awarded an Outstanding Research Award by the National Science Council, Taiwan in 2012. Dr Wang has authored more than 300 scientific papers. He enjoys teaching students and was awarded 2011 Outstanding in Teaching by National Yang-Ming University.

He is interested in clinical and epidemiology research of headache focusing on chronic migraine, reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndromes and spontaneous intracranial hypotension.
